Engaging with SIM coach

I had a Zoom meeting on October 24, 2018 with Patricia Garner.  I have participated in 1st Fridays and Zoom SIM Coaching.  In addition I have attended the first 3 PD days in Harrisburg and am attending the next 2 days on Dec 4 and 5 2018.

Coaching Feedback

I met virtually with Diane and fellow P2Ger...MaryLou Heron.  It was very helpful to discuss the Frame with Diane. We chatted about the purpose of the use of the frame, to help to make content more manageable.   We discussed the different frames.  We also reviewed over the Cue-Do-Review which was helpful.

Feedback from Diane on 9/12/18

GM!  You are very busy I see with PD and working diligently with the routines. A couple of things:  When you draft your FRAME also use the checklist to ensure you are meeting all of the technical components. Looking at this FRAME - 2 main ideas are identified and likewise I would suggest a FRAME that provides the details to support each main idea. If there is one main idea...in this case it might be the topic description, then identify the supporting details and complete the So What statement . ( p.52 in the Framing Routine Guidebook).  Although there is not always an E (Extend Understanding) on the templates in the guidebook, the E is a critical part of the routine. See p.21-22.

Please feel free to send along any questions. All the best,  Diane   PS- Post your draft (s) on Badge List and cut and past the feedback from this email. Place this under Develop a Draft.

Response to Feedback from August 2, 2018

The feedback you gave me on August 2nd said: Congratulations! on the completion of an implementation cycle. I am not able to view the video;I am getting lots of failed signs. I will ask Patty to see if she can have better luck , and then we will contact you.I see you want to continue in the fall with the second session. Let's look for a date to have a conference call or ZoomAlso you stated, you wanted the teachers to be able to return to the classroom to implement the FRAME, is this correct? If so, then there would be another session scheduled by a SIM Pder to provide the session. They (teachers in your cohort) can certainly use the FRAME developed in the session you provided on co-teaching as a quick reference for their planning, teaching and assessing.Look forward to hearing from you!

Were you able to view my videos for the Framing Routine? If not, I re-uploaded the videos to Google Drive and re-posted you the link to the Video/Observe section of badgelist. Hopefully this works!

I think my language in my response log for "Use the Frame Routinely" was confusing, partly because I was unsure what 'routinely' meant. My response said:
I would like to teach my participants how to construct their own frame in the October workshop, which will allow them to independently construct a frame that could be used in their own classroom/content area.

Reading it back, I realize that my statement reads as though I want my teachers to be able to teach the Frame Routine to their students. What I actually meant was that I would like the teachers to be able to complete a Frame independently, based on their knowledge of the six co-teaching appoaches and their implementation of the approaches over the last three months. I hope this helps. I will re-write my response for evidence for the "Use Frame Routinely" and clarify my meaning.

Thank You!

Response to feedback again

No, I will be using the same framing routine with a different topic of PD with the same group of teachers.  I will upload this new frame on Curriculum Framework once my PD has been completed next week.  This should then fulfill the requirement to earn the badge for fidelity, correct?

Response to feedback

In response to my most recent feedback, I will provide this frame routinely with the same group of teachers on my PD with the Curriculum Framework.  Please let me know when this badge has officially been earned.  I am confused because I have posted all required materials and want to move on to the Unit Outline.  Thanks!

Engage with Coach

It appears as though all of my required pieces have been submitted.  I am touching base to see if I have completed all for this badge.

Thanks!

I've attached a sample of some of the emails where my co-teacher and I engaged with our coach.

See below:

We spoke with Morri Pace often throughout this process- planning, implementation, follow up. She was great in giving guidance and examples for what to do, modify, alternatives to next time.
