Why Schoology?

Schoology is useful because parents can use it to access curriculum, grades, attendance can be taken, and communication can be had between all parties.

I think that it makes it easier for the students to have all their classes on the same platform. They didn't have to worry about adding a code because their courses were already synced due to skyward which really took away the stress of getting all the students in. If a student is able to access one course, there really shouldn't be a reason not to be able to access the others because it's in the same place. It's also less clutter for the kiddos. I have mine organized by week so when one week is done and over with so that it's not building up on the kids' pages, I simply unpublish it. With Google classroom the only way to declutter was to delete and then everything gets lost. We might not want all lost for documentation purposes but we just want it out of site. Oh and the assessments, are so lit. There are several different testing options to choose from which ties into how the kids are going to be testing when STAAR goes online. Drag and drop options, fill in the blanks, construction, matching and of course multiple choice. These are all things that TEA is playing with as we move forward with online testing. 

Schoology is a Learning Management System that will be consistent across the district enabling parents to make one transition to a more detailed place for learning, and parent involvement in that learning. Schoology allows teachers to communicate with parents, post assignments, grade assignments and receive assignments from students all in one place. It is simple to use and allows for a better educational flow between all stakeholders involved, students, parents, teachers and administrators.

Parents are able to see each individual profile information and status regarding each individual classes that may include absences, grades, tardy, and much more! Parent can also communicate with teachers by sending them messages. It is a fast and quick way for a parent to know and be part of students @ daily life during school. 

Schoology will help UCISD students and parents by providing them with a place to find everything they need for teaching and learning. Through Schoology, students will receive communication from their teachers, assignments, grades, and so much more! Parents get a better look into Schoology, as well, with a vast parent view that takes them into the online classrooms. Through Schoology, teachers can communicate, assign, grade, and document all in one place with with dynamic organizational tools and customization options.
