Why Schoology?

Our district uses this Texas Education Agency approved program that allows not only online teaching to take place but provides a strong platform for additional learning experiences for our students that would not ordinarily have opportunities to travel or explore outside our of rural town such as tours of museums or aquariums that otherwise would inaccessible to our students. Using technology this way is definitely the path to follow.

But, It is also a time saving, one stop shopping tool for teachers, administrators, parents and students for all things. All documentation is being moved to Schoology so there is only one system with everything about the student in one place.  
The efficiency of this move is like growing from cave man to space man. 

Schoology is a great platform that is easy to navigate through. It is also very good for communication, you get notifications of updates, messages, and notifications right on your mobile devices. Posting assignments and links on schoology is a simple process. Students are able to view their grades on assignments and also view missing assignments. The school groups pages are also very helpful on schoology, it looks exactly like a facebook feed timeline and you are also able to like and comment on posts of your colleagues. 

Schoology is similar to Facebook's format so it is not difficult to navigate. You are able to receive updates, messages, and post assignments all on Schoology. Also, you are able to be connected to rotation teachers and administration and join several different groups from your school.

Schoology is a Texas-approved learning platform that allows educators to assign and receive assignments. Not only does it allow students to see their assignments posted, their grades, as well as a way to communicate to the teacher. Parents also have access to keep them up to date with their child's progress and to school-wide activities. It provides a way for students, parents, and teachers to communicate. 

We use Schoology as a one stop for all information used by the entire district.  It easier to communicate with the parents, post assignments, test, announcements, updates as to what the class is doing through the out day.  Teachers are also able to send text. And parents are able to communicate with the teacher.

A great tool for organization, for parents to see students grades faster and students will gain knowledge on an LMS platform that will follow them through school and if they decide to go to college they will be familiar with an LMS system.

Since I have 3 campuses, I love the communication part of Schoology.  I am able to view all the updates, announcements, pictures and calendars.  It keeps me in touch with what is happening at all my campuses with just one log in.  It has so many useful resources built right in that can be tied into lessons to share with my assistants or to help teachers who need ideas.  

Schoology is a new innovative way to help teachers, students and parents. Schoology is able to not only help students and parents keep track of their grades, they can also communicate with teachers easily in one place. The ability for graded assignments to be synched easily with the skyward grade system is a huge win for everyone.
