Why Schoology?

Change is always good. Schoology is an awesome LMS that offers all areas in one for teachers, students and parents such as messages, grades etc. I love the idea that within the grade book I can see when students submit assignments and I can sync grades as they are doing so. There are other great tools that can be added to assignments, assessments and other content related websites like EdPuzzle and more to make learning fun and provide differentiation for our students. 

Schoology can offer all you need to ensure your class is organized and run effectively. Aside from being visually appealing to students, parents, and staff members, it offers a great integration piece with Google. 

Love the ability to create folders for each subject by the  9 week period or weekly.
It seems to be very organized.  Also, the grading seems to be more efficient.

Schoology is truly the way to go because everything can be handled from this platform. Sure there are kinks we're still working out, but over all, this is more productive than other platforms we have used. Assessments can be created and taken on Schoology, I can send and receive messages, I can communicate with students, post assignments, and grade assignments on the same platform. Students can view their assignments to easily see what they are missing and what they made on assignments without asking me which saves everyone time and energy. All in all, I am pleased with how Schoology is a great form of streamlined communication. 

This new platform for learning is ideal for the change we are currently in due to the pandemic.  Schoology allows students to view all current and upcoming assignments.  Schoology offers organizational tools that benefit all involved students, parents, teachers, and administrators.  Missed lessons are easier to find if learning from home at any given point. No longer do students have to wait for the teacher to give them the missing work.  With Schoology, students have control of their learning at any time. Parents can view what assignments are upcoming and which ones have been submitted.  As a parent of 3 students currently in school and using Schoology- I can always check their work.

Great for parents as well. Easy way to keep up with student's work and grades.

Why NOT Schoology?!!! Schoology is a place to house just about everything! It offers organizational tools for both students and teachers. It allows parents to see how their child is progressing and a simple way to keep in contact with their child's teacher. Schoology also provides resources for teachers to browse and use that follow our curriculum! It also allows us to use other educational applications such as Nearpod, EdPuzzle and Newsela just to name a few! 

Schoology is a great tool that we were given from TEA in a grant. In Schoology, we are able to see all of the courses, grades, comments, and so much more! The parents are able to login to their students' account to see what is missing and their grades- that is something that Google Classroom was not able to do. The students as well as the parents are also able to email the the teacher directly from Schoology! Schoology has a lot of tools that we can use. My favorite tool is the Assessment tool because we are able to set their tests and quizzes up almost exactly like the way Eduphoria does-which is our online testing site. We were not able to do this with Google Classroom, so this is an amazing tool to use. Schoology is our one stop shop! 

Schoology offers an overall look at your child's grades, assessments, assignments, and communication with their teacher. These can all be found in the Schoology app. No more clicking between three or more apps.  You can also see the unique badges that your child earns as they complete their work.  The updates is also a helpful feature with a calendar that will remind you of important school events.
