Why Schoology?

Schoology is a one stop shop for parents and students.  Schoology allows for all stakeholders in the students education to be involved.  Parents, students and teachers can easily communicate through the messaging system which is by far my favorite feature.  This eliminates the need for more tech apps such as dojo, or remind.  Parents, students and teachers are able to view the grade book and easily see grade comments and missing assignments.  While skyward is still an integral part of our day for health screeners and official grades, the Schoology grade book can give more information about missing assignments in real time.  Teachers and students both have access to the main page where students can locate assignments and complete them.   I was initially nervous and stubborn about the switch to schoology, but now I love schoology and all that it can offer to parents, students and myself as a collaborative educator that works on a team.

Schoology is as easy as 1,2 and 3! You will be able to submit assignments, upload documents and even check your grades! In Google Classroom, we were not able to fully connect the parents, but in Schoology we can! You will get your own personal code for your child so you can see everything they do and need on Schoology. Schoology is your one stop shop for digital learning! 

Schoology is very easy to use.  It is possible to integrate several platforms into Schoology.  I love that I can add resources and move them across courses.  I can organize everything into files.  I can create assignments and assessments right in Schoology without having to create them somewhere else and then try to attach it to my lesson plan.  I can post it directly to my course.  It offers more security to keep students safe.  With our new digital world it offers peace of mind that students’ information will be kept secure within the Schoology platform.  My favorite part is the tools and resources available that I can access with Schoology.  It allows me to create engaging lessons and it helps me keep track of student data that will allow me to differentiate and support my students where needed.

Schoology is a one stop shop for communication with families and students alike!  The messaging features are easy to use and the updates look much like Facebook, which many are familiar with.  Schoology has changed the level of thinking and transfer of knowledge with my first graders!  They are reading even more and challenging themselves in new ways earning badges.  Schoology is a MUST in today's digital classroom!

Schoology has made it easier for grading, posting assignments  and the folders are big help when searching for an assignment. I like how all we have to do is click on link and "add to course." The students adapted quickly to the platform and are teaching me a few things.
