Plagiarism Graphic

I used a picture that I took on the beach, in Siesta Key, Florida, and the Pages app on my computer to make my Plagiarism Graphic. I like pages very much, because it can be used for anything from writing a letter, to creating an academic paper, to making a nice poster or graphic. It was easy to use because I am well versed with it's technology and editing options.

The one source that I used was a quote from plagiarism.org, explaining the ins and outs of plagiarism for better student understanding. My graphic is geared towards a high school student (grades 9-12).

Target Grade Level

The target grade level for this badge is 6th grade. That is why it is short and to the point without being too childish.

Canva

I used Canva for this badge and I liked it, but I've used Canva for multiple other assignments in this class. Canva is my go-to app when I have to make a graphic.

Canva

I used the app Canva and I love this app! It's super user friendly and easy to understand quickly. There are a lot of options and it is very versatile. I made this for third graders with the fact in mind that they know what plagiarism means but not how to avoid it.

Canva rocks my socks!

I have loved working with Canva since we learned it. I find it so user-friendly and fun. I love the text options and the built in photo database.

I used the Canva app for this graphic.

I really enjoyed the look of this app. It's very easy to understand and find images. The images that cost are labeled with a credit marker. I like how when moving images, it will try to line it up with other things on the page. I do NOT like the how the typing boxes work. I was very annoyed trying to add a period to one of my statements, as when you click on the text box it automatically highlights all the text in the box. When I would tap again to place the cursor, it would just deselect it. I ended up just retyping the entire thing since I couldn't get it to work. I couldn't even effectively zoom in to make it easier, as whenever I tried to zoom, it would zoom my back layered picture. It would be cool if they could show what layer of the photo you're on somehow and improve typing. I would use Canva again, but not for anything text heavy.

Plagiarism Graphic

For my plagiarism graphic, I used the app Paper53 to create the drawing as a focal point. I then put the drawing into the app Canva and used that to create the graphic/poster. I thought this graphic would be great in 3rd or 4th grade classrooms as students are writing papers and may be doing some research. I wanted it to be eye-catching and relatable to elementary students, as well as teach them about what to avoid so they do not plagiarize.
