The app that I used to create this design was the Canva App. This design is intended for a 4th grade audience.

Canva Poster

I used the App canva to make my poster on plagiarism and copyright. I really like this app, and the many things you can do with it. I have used it in the past to create resumes. It has many templates that you can use as a format and then customize it with your information or you can start for scratch. For this poster, I started from scratch but used text templates. This could be used in a 5th or 6th grade classroom to begin to introduce the concept of owning your own work.

Canva

To make this graphic I used Canva. I love Canva because I think it is creative, easy to use, and great for creating any type of visually pleasing art. I have used Canva several times and feel that it gets easier every time I use it. I love Canva and will always continue to use it throughout my personal and teaching career. This is for middle school, 6th, 7th, or 8th. This would be best for the middle age range.

Tool used to make graphic.

The tool that I used to make my image was 53 paper. It is kind of a sketch app. I love using this app because I get to add my own creativity and make it pretty. I decided to make a page with a simple fact of giving credit and adding a quote I made up. I thought it was apporpatite for the project. Honestly I just wanted to make it fun and pretty!

my target grades are 3-5

Edited: added grade level and expectations.

I used the app Pages from Apple. I used Pages because the app has a broad range of flyers and posters one can create. The grade level  I would teach copyright and plagiarism is to 8th graders (age 13-14). In 8th grade, students are introduced to "how to write a research paper" and knowing about plagiarism and copyright is useful to learn.

I defined the terms in the poster. After explaining the flyer to my students, I expect them not to plagiarize or misuse copyright laws.

After saving the flyer onto Pages, I converted it into a PDF.

Short comic on plagiarism

I decided to make a short comic on plagiarism using bookcreator. I love using bookcreator especially the comic book option. I feel like it relates to students and it is an app that allows them to express themselves. If I was teaching about plagiarism, I would use this book as an example and have students make their own books on what they think plagiarism is.

My Poster

I chose to use Canva to create my poster! I had never used Canva before until this class and I absolutely love it! It is so easy to create super cute things and you have the ability to make it as simple or as complex as you want. Canva is my new go to for projects/assignments like these.

Canva Graphic

This encourages students to create their own work and use critical thinking skills in school. As a poster, it would simply remind students that plagiarising is not beneficial to success even though it is fairly easy to do. It also warns students of the potential consequences of copying someone else's work.

Canva

I ended up using Canva to do this assignment because i was trying to use Prezi at first and I kept losing my progress.
I have used Prezi before and it can do some really neat things, but sometimes the addition of more and more technology and transitions as well as more "subscription" that I do not want to pay for, can cause issues. I will say that in the past when i have used prezi, I have made really amazing presentations, i used it in high school to make a lord of the flies project presentation that zoomed in on different parts of their island. Sometimes it is difficult to get prezi to do what you want in the order of your presentation, going back and forth can sometimes be difficult.
I used Canva again because that is my go to app for making graphics. The way Canva is designed it is easy to pull images you are allowed to use and reproduce without infringing on someone else's life.
I dislike the complexity of Canva occasionally, the app is very sensitive and will go in and out on my screen many times so the intuitive aiding ends up taking me way longer to do than if it had backed off on the sensitivity. For example, highlighting and moving as well as editing text should be one click, but it takes a lot of tries to get to the selection you want and to get it to move how you want. Overall I do use this app frequently and appreciate its usefulness.

My flyer on plagiarism and copyright.

I used Pages and downloaded it as a PDF to upload it. I love how it turned out.
