Library Media Specialist Networking

I know so many people through Twitter, and I hope to meet them in person and develop a working relationship where I can collaborate and share ideas with these individuals, even if across the states!

Funding

With a minimal book budget, I sometimes struggle with collection development. I'd like to hear how my colleagues across the nation have overcome this common problem.

Sessions

So many sessions, so little time. I know this going in and my goal is to make the best choices for my personal and professional growth. I, also, hope to take in as many as sessions as possible so that I can return to my school with fresh ideas to implement.

Wandering around the exhibit hall.

I did not always take the time to meet with vendors and publishers.  I think they are important in supporting our profession.  So, I always take the time now to learn about their new products, see what publishers have coming out.  It is a great way to stay current.

Author Sessions

I can't wait to meet all of the amazing authors. I love seeing them at signings, special events, and concurrent sessions! My students get so excited when I share pictures from conferences with them, especially when I've grabbed a selfie with one of their favorite authors.

Sharing ideas and expertise

Networking is one of the best parts of AASL conferences. I'm co-presenting a session and I'm also social media co-chair. I want to do all I can to share my ideas, new learning, and enthusiasm at the conference, and to take away ideas and inspiration from presenters and friends old and new.
