Reflect on how the use of specific Chrome apps and/or extensions has affected your teaching and/or student learning.

All posted evidence

Loom for Chrome, Bitmoji Extension, Google Docs, Slides, and Sheets are very helpful to me.

I use loom for Chrome to record my videos for my virtual learners. I use bitmoji for my padlet posts for feedback on my virtual learners projects. This shows them that I saw them post a picture of their work and I give praise. I also use google docs, sheets and slides for teaching, organization and planning. Google docs is used in my curriculum planning. Sheets help me stay organized with my seating charts and also with my robotics students with demographic information. I use slides for a bitmoji classroom that my students can explore.

Chrome extensions are great! they make finding and using the apps very easy to use. I use screencast and loom as my top extensions to make videos while virtual. I recently found a screenshot extensions that has been super helpful. The Bitmoji extension is also useful to input my very own teacher touch on created materials. Teaching second grade you have to be cute and fun to keep it engaging for them. these extensions have made things just a little easier to navigate.

Google chrome extensions are great!

Google chrome extensions are very helpful, some of the most extensions I find the most helpful are Edpuzzle, Screencastify and Bitmoji.
1. Edpuzzle extension is very useful so you can easily assign an edpuzzle assignment through schoology
2. Screencastify is a great extension because its easy to use and be able to show students how to do certain assignments.
3. Bitmoji is a fun extension as its easily used to make personalized messages on lessons each and everyday.

The Chrome extensions have affected my teaching positively.
  • Bitmoji is easy to access from the menu. I have been using it to leave comments for my students on their work. Similar to leaving a sticker on a sheet of paper.
  • Screencastify is another tool that I use to record my screen explaining to the students how to use google slides, google docs, schoology, etc…
  • As a bilingual teacher using the extension for Google translate makes my job easier because I am able to translate assignments, lessons, or simply any word that I am unsure of the translation.

Extensions

Google Chrome extensions are a great tool to continue adding more to. It makes life on a computer easier and you have what you need at your fingertips. My favorite extension to use is Grammarly; it is always nice to have a second "set of eyes."

Chrome Apps and Extensions

When we went virtual I started using several Chrome extensions.  I used Loom so I could record lessons.  I started using a sketch pad so I could work out Math problems while I presented in Google Meets.  I added Bitmoji so I could create an interactive Bitmoji classroom for my students.  I could not have taught virtually without these extensions and for my students, it was almost as good as being in the classroom.  It was more engaging for them and it gave them visuals to refer to.  It helped the students learn by watching me work out problems with the sketch pad rather than just listening to me and trying to figure it out on their own.

Time Management!!!

Chrome apps are not only useful, but help with time-management. When in the middle of a virtual lesson, I can easily pi;; up Jamboard to show examples for my students in no time. I also love the way they work with Schoology! I also use dualless to split my screen on my MAC! Screencastify is great for creating short video tutorials for my students.
