I felt I was able to help improve student experience greatly
during my time as an English Year 1 course rep. By regularly communicating with
my peers and voicing their concerns in the SSLCs, as well as reporting back to
them what was discussed in the SSLC to improve the issue, I feel I was able to
implement positive change within the English programme. I have now recently
been elected as an English Year 2 course rep and I would like to continue to
help improve and make changes when necessary within the department by continuing
to try and make contact with more students this year. It can be quite difficult
to make yourself known to everyone as there are lots of people on the course,
and I plan on improving upon that this time around by continuing to communicate
regularly within the Facebook and WhatsApp groups for Year 2 English Students
and posting forms before SSLCs that allow students to anonymously submit their
concerns to be discussed in the SSLCs.
