All components of teaching and coaching The Word Mapping Strategy were completed on 6/27/2022.

Tasks completed:
  • participated in The Word Mapping professional learning by Dr. Berry on January 29, 2020
  • worked with mentor (Dr. Berry) to plan and present The Word Mapping Strategy professional learning to teachers in the region on September 30, 2021 and provided them with resources to implement in their classrooms
  • Taught a sixth grade student The Word Mapping Strategy from March to June 2022
  • Coached an eighth grade teacher in my region on the strategy for 3 in-person sessions and 2 phone conversations

Teaching and Coaching of Word Mapping

I completed all parts of teaching and coaching the strategy January 14, 2022. This strategy was beneficial for students to understand and attack unknown words. The strategy was repetitive and the book had many errors, but the strategy itself is wonderful for making meaning.
