I really like the Word Mapping Strategy as a way to help students analyze words for meaning. I think that breaking the word down and learning to do that independently will be of great value as students progress through the grades. I also appreciate the lists of prefixes, suffixes, and roots for students to keep as a resource and add to as they encounter new, less common word parts. I can see this strategy having high utility across grades and subject matter.
