I met with Bonnie on Nov. 4 to plan a lesson using LINCS for a SIM Demo Day at CMS.

I had planned to use LINCS to preteach several challenging vocabulary words using prefixes bi, di, and du as part of ongoing instruction in vocabulary roots and affixes. The students objective was to complete a sort using these words in order to learn the three prefixes for "two." My first step was to go over the word list and select several challenging, high-frequency words that would most benefit students to know. I decided to focus on duplicity, dubious, duplex, and dialogue. I asked a small group of students if they knew what those words meant and what they sounded like to them. These students helped me generate possible reminding words, which I worked into LINCing stories. I shared my draft with Bonnie. She helped me evaluate the reminding words to choose the best ones to share with students. I also made notes with Bonnie about the cue-do-review instructional process, to be sure I was using the routine with fidelity. Please see my draft, notes, and Bonnie's feedback using the Implementation checklist below.
