Middle school marching band program communication guide.

For my middle school marching band, our communication is done primarily through email.  I send out a weekly newsletter that contains the following:
  1. The upcoming week's rehearsal schedule
  2. Updates for band and color guard.
  3. *Important acknowledgements or thank yous to students, parents, or other teachers.
  4. Important upcoming events/rehearsals/performances.
  5. Closing words
*acknowledgements are typically sent after performances or difficult rehearsals.  I try to thank our students, parents, and other staff as much as possible.

I also call each parent...

During these calls I welcome the family or welcome them back to our school. I discuss expectations, and goals for the year. I speak to both the parent and the child.
