Digital Citizenship Resources

https://www.brainpop.com/technology/digitalcitizenship/
Brainpop is an excellent educational site for students of all ages. Brainpop has an entire unit on digital citizenship! Teachers can assign specific lessons to students based on what aspect of digital citizenship needs to be taught. For example, before a research process students can complete the “copyright” or “internet search” lessons to understand how to best gather information
https://www.edutopia.org/blog/digital-citizenship-resources-matt-davis
This edutopia link offers several different lessons teachers can give students to teach them about digital citizenship! It’s especially helpful by being broken down by grade level, so the lessons are more geared toward certain grade levels.
https://www.cyberwise.org/digital-citizenship-resources
Cyberwise is another example of lessons for students to learn about being a good digital citizen. The resources on Cyberwise allow for students to identify what makes a good citizen as well as synthesizing how they plan to be a good citizen.
https://www.commonsense.org/education/digital-citizenship
CommonSense might be one of the best sites for supporting digital citizenship in the classroom. There are free lessons for all grade levels to engage students. You can also deliver these lessons with Nearpod.
https://prezi.com/0oytyeqdyqyw/what-is-a-digital-citizenship/
This published prezi goes over what it means to practice good digital citizenship as well as why it’s important. It is very informative and leaves little questions unanswered.
https://www.schoology.com/blog/digital-citizenship-elements-lessons-and-importance-0
Schoology is another platform many educators are familiar with. This site is like many of the others by teaching students about what it means to be a good digital citizen, how to apply that knowledge, and why it is important. Schoology also offers eye catching graphics on the topics!

Digital Citizenship - Lessons - Blendspace

I really loved this video on oversharing! I like that it is teens talking to teens, not an adult telling teens what to do. Asking them "why?" do you really need to post the things you post (what you are doing, where you are at, who you are with, saying things you wouldn't normally say to others) and to remember that it will always be there!
