4-24-18 P2G: SIM Certification Dr. Sue Vernon Talking together

We discussed the 6 lessons within the Talking Together strategy. We broke out into expert groups to discuss a specific lesson then came back together in our family groups to share our specific lesson for a few minutes with the rest of the group. This strategy establishes clear expectations and rules for group work/discussions. It allows for all group member to feel that their input is valued and respected.

Talking Together

Reviewed the lessons of the Talking Together Series. We each expressed what was involved in the lessons we reviewed. My lesson was RESPECT Reviewed the checklist and shared with other learners. Discussed how we use SEE (Sound, Expression, Eye Contact) and other acronyms associated with the lessons really help kids learn to participate with each other using good skills...

Talking Together In IU 15

I could see the Talking Together program being used in both special and regular ed settings in IU 15.  As a PBIS network facilitator, I see this being utilized across the tiers in both small group, whole group, and with individual students.
