Presentation used in the professional development

Provided Professional Development Session along with my mentor to a small group of gen ed and special ed teachcers August 3,2017

Tammy and I worked together to create the presentation and materials to use in the professional development that we used today.  We had a small group of 7 teachers hand picked by administration from the middle schools that needed the professional development.  We will follow up with coaching with these teachers.

A large group professional development session was held on January 18 for our middle school teachers on the Inference Strategy.

My district saved January 18 for a professional development date this year.  I had hoped to be able to get our middle school special education teachers trained at the beginning of the year on the Inference Strategy, but changes from the general education side made that impossible.  Instead, we used January 18 for this training.

Last year and the beginning of this year, we reviewed our MAP data and found that inferencing was our most needed skill in elementary and middle schools, which is why we wanted this training.  My post-survey found that teachers were very happy with this strategy.  One of the questions on the post-survey concerned the ease of use and if they felt ready to begin using it immediately after the training.  The comments were only very positive concerning this training.
