I was observed by my SIM Professional Developer during a small-group PD.

I conducted a FRAME training session under the guidance of Cindy Medici.  This half-day PD included teachers from LaBelle Middle School and LaBelle High School.

Frame Routine Instruction

Mrs. Blevins observed me during my sessions using the Framing Routine. I guided her through the process of completing each section of the frame, using the manual as a reference. She practiced with several different topics before actually using the routine with her students. She then used it over several class periods and I observed two of those.

Instruct

I co-presented with Erinn Green at the VDOE's Co-Teaching Academy where we provided professional development for attendees in how to use FRAME. I have four co-teaching teams who attended this professional development and teams who are interested in using FRAME with their own students so I will continue to mentor these teams and provide coaching during the 2017-2018 SY.

Co-teaching instructor

On the following dates: Mrs. Joy Moore and I conducted a professional development on the Frame Routine with  the English department co-teaching pairs. The dates were April 19, 2017 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and April 27, 2017 from 9:30 to 11:00. During the first session we model for them using the frame for a writing and reading assignment. We asked them to be able to demonstrate in the second session how to use the Frame.

Teaching Adults

I participated in a 3 year cohort of which the 3rd year was a leadership group in which we learned strategies for teaching the adult learner and how to use SIM PD.  I instructed my professional learning group under the supervision of my mentor and then I instructed science teachers at the county wide professional development day.  All were very appreciative and expressed plans to use the strategy in their classes.

I taught about KUCRL SIM focusing on the FRAME routine to my fellow Earth Science teachers at L.C. Bird High School and was observed doing this by my mentor.  I then taught FRAME at the Countywide Professional Day.
