Reflection of the implementation of the FRAME Routine 1/19/2017

What went well: Students in the co-taught 1st/2nd period were able to review the Figurative Language Unit " SHAMPOR" using an evidence based strategy in an interactive way.  

Challenges: While the students were engaged, they were sleepy and I had to pull answers and participation out of them.  Another challenge was developing the so what" statement by themselves.  Their answers were very basic like, "We need to know this concept to pass the SOL." 

What I will do next time: I will work on teaching the "so what" concept of a lesson to make the content more meaningful to the students.  

What adjustments did I make:  With a smaller class, I called on students to answer and ensure participation, however in a larger class setting I would have the students shout out the answers in a call-and-response fashion.
