Lead4Ward Assessment Reference Material

Lead4Ward offers teachers the ability to assess the level where their students are currently performing to determine gaps in learning and to assess the individualized needs of students. The subject matter in the Lead4Ward material does not align with my current curriculum, but I can see the value in the data.
I could apply the writing data to my class as my students are often tasked with evaluating ethical situations in a written format. This data would allow me to better understand the students that work well within the written medium and students that struggle to articulate when forced to write essays and papers.

I will use the same vocabulary as other teachers in other grades. I can see how what students learn with me will be used in future classes.

Great Resource

Lead4ward is a great resource for lesson planning.  All the TEKS are there in front of you.  I find the vocab and the snapshot the most useful.  The vocab makes sure we are all speaking the same language and the snapshots makes sure I cover everything I need to.

Proactive Lesson Planning Approach

I will use these resources to: 1. vertically align my dyslexia intervention lessons and deftly toggle between the grades 2 & 4 readiness and supporting standards.  Also, these resources will assist me in anticipating interventions to meet the needs of the struggling learners.   Additionally the activities will aid my students in relating the concepts to  "real world"  applications; in turn, raising the bar of rigor.

The TEKS snapshot is helpful because it groups the TEKS into logical bundles. I also like the vocabulary.

I like to use the Snapshots, and Scaffold document for lesson planning, especially to make sure I am teaching the TEKS during the correct unit. It is also helpful, because it brakes down the TEKS.
