My reaction to the Innovation Hub

I was first intimidated when i walked into the Fab Lab. I had no idea what i was getting myself into. However, after i watched the video and took the quiz i wasn't as intimidated. One off the guys walked me through the actual process of the laser cutter once I was finished completing my design. I decided to make 6 basic coasters that say Boomer Sooner on them! Once they were finished i could not believe it! I tend to get overly excited over little things and this was one of them. I had no idea that the innovation hub even existed, or that i have access to it whenever i want during hours. My mind was blown. I had a hard time trying to decide why or how this experience is relevant to my future teaching career. The only thing that i can think of is that it taught me not to let my fear of handling machinery get in the way of allowing me to create and design all kinds of cool things. With that being said, as a future teacher, i will have students who are intimidated to try new things and will be hesitate. I will look back at this experience that I had and do my best to make my students feel comfortable in the classroom and encourage them to try new things. I will also push them to use their imagination and urge them to use their creativity in my classroom.
