Badge Overview

How to earn this badge

The goal of this badge is to familiarize you with the basics of awarding and earning badges. This is a linear badge, it is recommended to follow the instructions below, then move through each of the requirements in order.

Note: This is a pretty big badge. There are a lot of little pieces to explore and understand. Everything covered in this badge and all of its section is super critical to your understanding of the platform, so the recommendation is not to rush this badge. Give yourself time to poke around and explore all of the nooks and crannies. It will end up paying off down the road.

Before You Begin: Invent a few email addresses and pick some badges to use

You're going to want to be able to have a few different email identities to play around with. You'll want to be able to award badges to a few different email addresses that represent new Badge List users so that you can then sign up and try different parts of the flow with each. You'll also want to be able to award a badge to an existing user account that isn't your main user account.

So basically you just want to come up with a few email addresses. If you use gmail you can get around the need for unique email addresses by adding a plus code to the end of the first part of your email. (Ex: 'youremail+1@gmail.com', 'youremail+2@gmail.com', 'youremail+testUserA@gmail.com', etc)

You'll also want to pick a couple of badges in your group to use for your tests. It'll be best if you pick some that have at least a couple different requirements.
