After creating a group or badge you will want to invite people to join.  You have a few different options.

Inviting people to join your group without specifying a badge

Go to the group page and click "Invite Members" in the header of the "Members" section.

This will allow you to enter a list of email addresses.  An invitation email will be sent to these users.  Note: If your group is public then you can also simply send out a link to your group's page and allow people to join themselves.

Inviting people to join specific badges as learners

Note: This is only possible for evidence-based badges (refer to #badge-requirements for details on the two types of badges).

Go to the badge page and click "Invite learners" in the header of the "Learners" section.

This will allow you to either select existing group members to invite to the badge or allow you to invite new group members by entering a list of email addresses.  Either way, an invitation email will be sent to these users with the details of your invitation.  Note: If your group is public then you can also simply send out a link to the badge's page and allow people to join the badge themselves.

Awarding badges directly

The final option is to award the badge directly to a new user.  To do this, click the "Award the badge" button in the header of the "Badge Experts" section of the badge page.  At this time you may only award the badge to one person at a time (bulk awarding is not yet possible).  As a workaround for bulk awarding, we recommend using one of the invitation techniques outlined above.

All done?

The last step is learning more about how to #award-badges.
