Understanding the Standards

While attending sessions and engaging in collaborative discussions with other attendees, I found that I have a solid understanding of the standards and can easily identify which standards I'm addressing (or are being addressed) in a given lesson/unit of study.  Maureen Schlosser and Rebecca Granatini's book AASL Standards:Lessons Inspired by Picture Books for Primary Grades is a great resource and has helped me see how to interpret the standards in an age appropriate way for my elementary students.

AASL standards

I learned so much from Lori Donavan about her book about "Inquire" her author talk was informative and gave me some great ideas of how to apply this in the guided inquiry model.
