Opening Keynote

Ellen Oh spoke to my soul when she talked about wanting to be white. Oh how I wish I could've spent more time watching this session over and over.

Even with memoirs, @StudioJJKmakes it clear that there is so much research that goes into writing. Finding, touching, holding a toy from childhood, pulling every piece of info about a torndown building w/ a place in the story, crafting a playlist to connect w/ the past... #AASL19

On the fence about whether graphic novels deserve a place in your library collection? Spend time listening to @StudioJJK talk about how important graphic novels can be for hooking readers. #aasl19

Ellen is Oh-mazing!

It is important for ALL of our students to see themselves in the books in our library.  A diverse collection is not only important, but what our students deserve. (From Ellen Oh Keynote)

From Jarrett J. Krosoczk

We have the power to consider whether our students see diversity among the adults they interact with. Think about that when you invite authors and other adults they interact with. It's not the library space, it's the librarian. Be the very best you can be for your students every day.
