Day #1 at AASL19

We arrived in Louisville last night at 10:20pm after a full day of work. The drive wasn't too bad and we did not run into any bad weather. I have to say that arriving at the convention center for registration and things starting afternoon, was a really nice, slow start to the day.

Last week I attended the Virginia Association for School Librarians (VAASL) Annual Conference. It's always hard to get away from school for a few days, but I think it's worth it if I am able to collect take-aways that really upgrade the work I do every day in my library program and my learning as a professional.

This year I have a colleague from my library who will be attending her first national library conference, the AASL National Conference in Louisville. My first library conference was more than fifteen years ago, and my first national convention was at least ten years ago.
