Evaluation and Impact Management

Successes included
-Having 25 students attend
-Being able to speak to students in person at the end in a more informal format to answer any queries that they may have been too shy to ask in front of the entire room !
-Giving detailed advice from myself and the rest of the speakers about how to make a future CV stand out
-Having staff give us feedback that the event was really positive and successful

Impact of my contribution
-Range of speakers from different backgrounds and interests in chemistry/science
-Was able to utilise the skills of others in order to get a poster and email out to advertise the event
-Effective communication with the committee enabled Staff to advertise the event and to also have pizza at the event to encourage people to come!

Recommendations
-Repeat event annually for each intake of students
-Possibly book a larger room so that there is more space to chat to students afterwards (so they are not too shy and feel comfortable asking speakers questions)
-Advertise a bit more in advance (in order to get even more than 25 students next time!)
-If students who went to this meeting manage to secure a summer placement, chat to them and see if they found it useful and would like to present about theirs in the following year!
