Student Interviews

The strategy works when it is applied. There is an issue with consistently using the strategy. In speaking with several students they often forget to use the strategy when reading outside the intervention classroom. Not all teachers provide reminders to use their strategy or are able to remind students about what to do. Students remarked they know how to sound out the words best when given in the intervention class due to reminders about how to use it.

Student Interview

The students in my class this year were very disappointed that the class ended first semester. They felt respected and they felt successful. Their use of the strategy has shown on language arts class assessments and their desire to work together, despite differences in personalities was outstanding.
