I met Mark during a training in Cedar Rapids in August 2019. My district sent an email in the spring of 2019 to see if there were teachers interested in attending a training on various KU strategies. I looked into the strategies and decided that this was something my students could really benefit from. Myself and four other teachers drove a total of 3 hours each day, for a week, to attending this training. The training consisted of the following strategies: Fundamentals of Sentence Writing, Proficiency in Sentence Writing, The Inference Strategy, The Main Idea Strategy, Word Mapping, and Understanding Academic Language.
