Badging

Love the idea of badging! Having been a girl scout, I get the appeal. I think the staff I train will like it as well.

I'm excited about Micro-credentialing opportunities related to SIM, both an a high implementer in Routines and a PDer in Strategies!

Micro-credentialling sounds like a great way to track your progress a learner.

I am not sure how I will be able to implement this idea with my students, but as an adult learner, it would be a great way for me to advertise my skills to my district and to other important people in my network.

Great visual way to show professional strengths and passions.

I appreciate the micro-credentialing approach, as I feel it is a very quick, visual way to represent my SIM accomplishments, strengths, and passion areas.

Micro-credentialing Thoughts:

Micro-credentialing seems to be an interesting way to "market" your achievements for professional development to the SIM network and employers.

I think this is a great idea. I really understood the implications after I watched the video on badging.

A wonderful idea!

I think this is a great way to keep SIM alive.  By working with teachers in different districts, we can evenly spread Strategies and Routines.

A great way to award teachers who are proficient in strategies.

Micro credentials will be a great way to award those super teachers who have attended many PD sessions, and are currently teaching the strategies with fidelity in the classroom. I plan to speak to a friend of mine who is an excellent teacher. She and I have talked about becoming a SIM Professional Developer, but the timing was not right for her to attend an Institute. She uses the strategies daily in her classroom in Sumter, and reaches many students with them. Micro Credentials will give her a step toward becoming certified.

It will allow SIM PDers to easily showcase specific skills sets when working with school divisions or applying for new positions.

How to use Micro-Publishing...a useful way to share my knowledge

I'm now able to show, through using these badges, not just my position as a SIM: Learning Strategies Professional Developer, but also the Learning Strategies I feel I have more expertise in teaching and presenting as a professional developer than others.

I think the micro-credentialing process is helpful, but needs tweeking.

I like the user-friendliness of the site, but it is lacking a few features. It would be helpful if you could upload a document. It is would be helpful if there was another level to the badges for PDers. It feels a little cumbersome to need to have multiple credentials for each device.
