Keynote thoughts

I really appreciated the section on open education as we search for a way to have teachers share quality CE devices.

Amazing as always!

The keynote was very informative and challenged my thinking to continue to press forward - no matter how much progress has been made there his always more that can be done.

The session on Understanding Academic Language was wonderful - very informative!  Excellent addition to the learning strategies curriculum!  Feel so fortunate that Frances was able to present her work first-hand.

Keynote-Culatta Session-micro-credentials Patti Graner

Richard Culatta presented the concept of micro-credentials and how they are being used to provide specific evidence of skills. I see the power of these badges. Now we just need to spread the word for their use.

in the general session, Patti shared how she has used and obtained her badges. Participants were able to log on and start playing with the software. This was an excellent session.

Evaluation of Microcredentialing

Going step-by-step through the SIM badges would have been helpful for me.  The rest was amazing!

The speaker certainly knew what he was talking about. He pointed 7 items to consider when deciding to use technology for learning.

I am not computer savvy so therefore I am leery of going all tech. I do like the idea of replacing a text book with mobile device though.

So far I've attended the Awards and Welcome, Richard Culatta's keynote, and Patty Graner's Micro-Credentialing. All have been wonderful!
