Math 6 class

The class we used this routine in was our co-taught math 6 class. This class has 26 students in it. About half of the class are special education or 504 students. Most of the students passed their SOL test last year with the exception of a few. We used about 15-20 minutes to complete the comparison table.

We completed this activity with our 6th grade Math class. There are 26 students in the class. It took us about 15-20 minutes to complete the routine. See evidence in other post.

Group data

There are 17 students in the class- 8 have IEPs or 504s. The class meets 3 times a week, once for 45 mins, and twice for 75 minutes. Within this class, we have worked with six Chromebooks that are used for SDI and meeting other types of accommodations. We have not used the student devices for the Concept Comparison Routine, but instead, we use big blow up/dry erase templates.

Concept Comparison Log

Used with students in college setting. Class consisted of 30 students. Each comparison chart was created during one 2.5 hour class session to help generate thoughts for an extension activity.
