My goals for No Worksheet Week include projects that are student-centered and allow for student choice (art, blogging, STEM challenges).

My goal is to help 3 teachers bring in lessons where they don't need a worksheet. I also want to try something I've never done with my class

Away with the Worksheets!

My goal for NWW is to allow my students a hands-on approach to learning.  I want them to be the ones to come up with answers through exploring with manipulatives.  I want them to collaborate, teach each other, and create with little guidance to no guidance from me.  I've always thought it is better to be the "guide on the side" than the "sage on the stage" and NWW allows me to 100% implement student driven lessons.

My Goals for No Worksheet Week....

My goals for No Worksheet Week are to assist the 4th and 5th-grade classrooms that I work in ditching worksheets.  I have a full week of exciting learning lined up.  I will be working on a project-based learning activity, implementing a student-led ed camp, participating in a Mystery Skype, continuing with Genius Hour, assisting with engineering challenges, and incorporating literature and math in a hands-on tangram activity.  Looking forward to #noworksheetweek!

My goal for No Worksheet Week is for students to take ownership of their learning and demonstrate their own creativity.

As a kindergarten teacher, my goal is to make learning as developmentally appropriate as possible.    For no worksheet week, my goal is to engage students in hands on activities that allow them to think, process, apply and reflect on their learning in the classroom.  Rather than fill in the blank worksheets about word families, I want to them manipulate and create words on their own.  Rather than circling shapes on a worksheet, I want them to build and create the shapes.  Rather than answer a right/wrong answer about animals and their habitats, I want them to build models, create homes, and design posters that demonstrate their understanding of animal needs and their environments.  Quite simply, I want my students to take ownership of their learning.
