Metacognitive Reflection

Completing this badge helps me improve as a person because it proves that I have some assets I need to be successful later in life, such as presentation skills, leadership skills, and social skills. I was able to achieve this badge by practicing leadership and group activities. I’ve been working with middle schoolers by doing team building activities with them such as playing ice breaker games with them. One ice breaker game that I planned for them and lead them in was the ‘Never Have I Ever Game’, where everyone gets in a circle in chairs, with one person in the middle saying something they have never done, starting with the phrase “Never have I ever...”. Once they say their statement, everyone who has done the thing stated has to get up and find a new chair to sit in that is not next to them. This is a good team building activity because through it, the students can see what their classmates have and have not done, and they can see what they have in common with each other.
