I enjoyed using the videos on Discovery Education in my classroom.

My seventh graders have been working on writing skills. Before Spring Break I used a collection of videos over two days to help student understand relating to and critiquing the book they were reading. The videos covered things like point of view and theme. The examples in the videos were spot on for what I was looking for students to do in their book critique. This week, we are going back over essays. I found a collection of short videos that go over essays and what they need to include. The videos do a good job of breaking down the essay parts and explaining what is needed. The videos are short and easy to include in a lesson. They are full of good information and allow the students to learn from someone other than me 😀! I will definitely be using more videos in the future. I found some on Grammer and editing I can't wait to use

Discovery Education

It was interesting to see the diversity of materials on Discovery Education. If was fairly user friendly and easy to learn to navigate through the program to find resources and to build a lesson.
I find that Khan Academy, which appears to me to be a similar program, has more materials that aligns with my class than the Discovery Education.
I did like being exposed to a new platform and will continue to explore it in the future.

Educational videos are a fabulous visual!

My students need jingles, chants, movement, and visuals to help them retain the spelling rules and patterns necessary for success in compensating for their disability.  Life videos capture & hold their attention.

The kids liked it.

The kids enjoyed the videos.  I like the shorter ones better due to the attention span of my students.  Thirty minutes on symbols is a little much for first grade and they began to get a little off task due to the length.  I think I would include it again in sections rather than an entire video.
