Kahoot and Quizizz are new to me this year.

I am a Quizlet and Quizlet Live fanatic and was not looking forward to trying Kahoot or Quizizz. When I figured out that you could create either with a spreadsheet, I was in. Just as easy as Quizlet and the kids love having variety in the classroom.

This particular piece of technology is helpful on two levels. First, the educator can see trouble spots in a student's understanding and plan for reteaching, possible misconceptions through the data gleaned from questions or question types, and can aid for future planning. Next, the student can check his or her knowledge through instant feedback and can adjust his or her learning to meet the expectations of future lessons. In both cases, the instructional level of the students can increase.
Personally, I only use this for quick comprehension checks. If one were to use this to a higher degree, however, the questions should be constructed to meet the rigor required by the educator. This would entail learning the methodology of question building.

I used each of the games as a review prior to the test. Some classes performed better but everyone left knowing they needed to study.

Kids enjoyed it and it allowed for students to have discussion on the ones they missed. Definitely will use this again.

Kahoot use in the classroom is wonderful.

I have been using Kahoot as a check for understanding in several of my content areas.  It has helped tremendously with math facts and recall.  The kids have become faster due to being timed and wanting to be the first one to enter their answers.  It is a great way to provide immediate feedback to the students.  It allows me to know what I need to reteach and review.  I love the fact that you can pull from other people's Kahoots and not have to always make your own.  My students beg to play Kahoot and do not even realize that we are still learning.  I will use it again and again.

The kids loved Kahoots!

I actually was not aware of the Kahoots program until one of my students told me about the online quizzes. I went to build my first quiz and it was easy to use. The kids were actually excited to review for the test with the quiz. I give incentive by adding bonus test points to those that are in the top 5 of the quiz.

Kahoot Reflection

What can I say?  Kahoot is great!  The students are all engaged when we play and they love it!  The only downfall with it is the noise, but we all know that when students are up and engaged--there's going to be noise.  The great part about all this type of noise is it is the students are talking about what they are learning and they are excited about learning it.

The site is user-friendly and even allows you to use Kahoots other users have made. Making your own is a piece of cake though.  You can even download reports in an Excel spreadsheet that gives you insight like what questions were missed and who made the most points.  Students are able to access the site via a game code on a computer or a mobile device which makes it even easier to use with your students.  All in all, I would definitely give five stars for Kahoot. It can be used for pre-tests, reviews, surveys, and even exit tickets. I highly recommend the game for any subject.  It is guaranteed to energize your class and your kids!
